For the most important memories, the most valuable footage, we offer archiving onto Verbatim Gold DVDs. These DVDs are guaranteed by Verbatim to last 100 years... Additionally we burn Gold DVDs at a slower rate (8X) to ensure lowest possible error rate.
If you’d prefer to have your transfer or a duplication performed directly to Archival Gold media instead of the regular quality Verbatim media we generally use, the cost is an extra $7.70 per DVD above the regular cost of whatever transfer or duplication service you choose. Please be advised that we cannot print in colour on Gold discs.
Short-term Archiving...
While that might sound like a contradiction in terms, we do offer short term archiving on Mini-DV tape, Hard Drive or USB Thumbdrive, or even regular DVDs. This service is of use for persons who want higher quality, future editable storage of their video files. (DVD video is not the highest quality video format in existence. It’s not even as high in vision quality as DV - the format used in mini-DV tapes.) With high definition format wars yet to be decisively won, some may wish to archive their footage for future transfer to Hi Def media, as it becomes cost effective to do so.
