Audio Cassette Digitizing prices
Please note that a $33 minimum charge applies to any Audio Cassette Transfer project. These rates cover only the cost of digitizing, either to our edit station, or Direct-to-CD. Where you are unfamiliar with what you might have on a tape, digitizing costs are calculated as the duration of the entire side, or sides of all tapes that you instruct us to digitize, irrespective of whether or not they contain useful material. If you know what you have in terms of content length, we can record just that amount, or you can instruct us to stop recording after we hit 5 mins of blank tape.

Transfer via edit suite + edit + transfer to CD: Add $10 per master CD to above digitizing rates, (extra CD copies are $5). Includes basic noise reduction pass & “top & tail” edit, reducing tape hiss & eliminating silent (unrecorded) bits. More advanced noise reduction, editing, track separation & other audio processing available at our hourly rates. We’d be happy to give you an estimate.

Transfer Direct to CD: Nil surcharge. No editing possible with this option. Entire tape contents transferred to DVD exactly as is (no removal of blank tape or unwanted portions is possible).

Transfer to USB FlashDrive or Portable Hard-Drive: A $10 once-off drive setup/conversion/transfer fee applies.

• Entire specified side/s of tape digitized.
• All prices assume a correctly functioning cassette tape.

• The resulting digital audio produced from a Audio Cassette Transfer to CD will be one continuous length audio file produced from each side of each tape in CD Audio format... If we are transferring your audio to a drive, you can choose your file format - .wav file, .aiff file, .mp3 file etc..

Optional Extras

• Track Detection & Division, & Track Titling: Our hourly audio editing rate applies.. We can quote you an idea of the costs if you tell us what you have....

• Customise Disc Face Artwork with Title & Track Names: If you would like your CD artwork custom-printed with Album/Artist Title info, and individual track name info, we can provide this service for an additional $5 per CD.. (Once-off fee per original resulting CD from a transfer - any copies you may order will not attract any extra charge for customization.)

• Customise Design & Supply Themed CD Jewel Case inserts: Our Standard CDs produced from a Budget Audio Transfer are supplied in a Poly Case. If you would prefer a CD Jewel case, with matching themed design, customized with your information (Title & Track info), this service is available for an additional $10 per CD.. (Once-off fee per original resulting CD from a transfer - any copies you may order will attract a $3 extra charge only..)

• Advanced Noise Reduction & Audio Sweetening: Removal of the noise associated with the cassette tape medium. We can do a basic pass or go as far as you wish with this process. Audio Sweetening, Equalization etc available upon request. Charged at our hourly audio editing rate.

Why do we allow the extra 4 mins past the hour in our pricing? Well, we wanted to be as fair as we could.. We have duration-based pricing, the fairest system, but we need to cut off somewhere & we didn’t want to necessarily cut right on the dot of the hour or half hour, especially when many tape manufacturers were generous enough to give you an extra couple of minutes of tape above what the packaging states. Experience has taught us that 4 minutes grace should cover most cases.. It’s just another example of how we try to make things fair & affordable for our clients.

Current copyright law states that private indiividuals are entitled to make a single digital backup copy of a copyrighted cassette that they own, for thier own personal use only.
