Conditions:

Minimum Order We have a minimum order size of 3 tapes for this service. If you have less than 3 tapes we can help you out for an additional $5 per transfer, or you can upgrade to Value Transfers at $35 for up to 2 hrs..

Accepted Formats We accept VHS, VHS-C, Mini-DV, Video 8, Hi 8, Digital 8 only for Budget Transfers at this incredibly low rate.. If you have Beta or S-VHS tapes we can help you out for an additional $5 per transfer.

Duration. This method will produce its best quality results on a DVD of up to 2 hours worth of program content onto a single DVD.

If you have tapes that run longer than 2 hours you have two choices with the Budget Transfer: Either...

• we encode it all onto the one DVD for $33, but you need to remember that the quality will take something of a hit.. (maximum content duration possible is 4 hours.)

• Alternately we can divide the program exactly in half to run over 2 x DVDs. This essentially becomes two transfers splitting your single source tape over a DVD twin set, and so will cost you $44. For your second DVD we back up to a point approximately one minute before the 1st DVD’s cut-off point, thus ensuring that you do not miss any of your program.

Editing. At this budget level of service we can offer no included editing or tidying up of the content whatsoever. Your tape will be checked at commencement and at intervals to ensure things are proceeding correctly, but your entire tape will not be watched right the way through with this level of service, so you will need to know what is on your tapes.

If your tape runs 2 hours, and the second hour is an old movie off the TV then that will be transferred onto your DVD unless you have first watched the tape through and have alerted us to the fact that you only want a certain part of the tape transferred. We cannot guess what part of the program you would want transferred, and the low pricing for this service does not allow for us to watch your tapes through and contact you to discuss what we’ve seen on it.. If you want to have us transfer only a part of a tape, then you’ll need to supply us with counter readings to indicate exactly which parts of the program content you’d like us to record. With this service only one set of in & out points (hence one continuous video segment) will be transferred. If you have more than one segment you would like transferred to DVD you have entered the domain of (basic) editing, and you will need to choose our
Value transfers & extra editing.

If you are unable to view your tapes, then your choices are either to have us transfer the entire contents, or you’ll need to upgrade to our Value level service. The
Value service has our unique-in-the-industry “What’s On This?” option available, to cover instances where it is not possible for you to watch your tape through, where for a charge of $5.50 per tape (on top of your transfer costs) a skilled operator will take note of your tape’s content and report back to you what is on it (described to the best of our ability), then await your instructions before proceeding to burn your DVD. Extra editing charges may apply if your instructions are beyond the scope of what is offered within the pricing of our Value Transfers..

Navigation. With the Budget service your DVD will not feature a DVD navigation menu on the disc. Navigation for these transfers is by way of “skip points” placed at approximately 5 minute intervals. You can also FF/Rew (A.K.A. “Scan”) at various speeds from your DVD player’s remote control.
