Image Preparation & Options for “Value” Slideshows
To avoid any extra costs you will need to provide us with the digital images prepared in the way we need them. That way we can get straight to business crafting your slideshow. It’s easy to prepare your images as outlined below, and this will save you from incurring any extra costs.
Grouping Images:
1/ Digital images will need to be grouped by you into the groups you’d like them in. Or you can simply indicate that you just want them broken up into manageable groups by numbers.
If grouping them please name the folder the way you’d like that Slideshow’s name to appear on the DVD menu. Please keep these names succinct or we may have to abbreviate them if space is limited.
Numbering Images within Groups:
2/ You’ll need to number the images in the order you’d like them to show. To avoid any extra charges ( for our operators to re-order everything manually) you’ll need to use a numbering system that a computer will recognise.
For example as long as you have under 1000 images in a folder, using a numbering system that has 3 digits will work beautifully.. eg 001, 002, etc. If your images have names, such as “Auntie Edna” you’ll need to replace the name with approved numbering if you want the images to run in a particular order. Image files with proper names will mean nothing in a slideshow anyway (unless you want a subtitle or caption). So if your files are named rather than numbered, we’ll have to check with you that you do not care about what order the images show in the slideshow. Where images are named just as they came out of the camera, such as “DSC01717” we will likewise have to check with you that you do not wish to have them show in a particular order. So please avoid delays and expense by numbering your files correctly.
If you do not want to do this or cannot, we can re-order images for you.. You’ll need a list with which image goes in what order. We find that a simple 2 column list.. with numbers 1 through to whatever in column 1, and the current name of the file in column 2, works pretty well. There will be a small extra charge for this service.
